Where’s The Dignity?
Hagåtña, Guam – The Office of the Governor condemns Attorney General Douglas Moylan’s latest billboard stunt, which falsely depicts a “tent city” on the lawn of the Ricardo J. Bordallo Governor’s Complex. This disgraceful and fear-mongering display is not only a gross misrepresentation of reality but a blatant waste of taxpayer dollars that could have been used to actually help those in need.
Adelup is more than just the seat of government—it is a community space where families gather, athletes compete, and residents celebrate. It hosts sporting events, cultural performances, and public ceremonies. It is also a landmark for visitors and former residents returning home. Instead of using his office’s resources to support real solutions, Moylan has chosen to manufacture a crisis with misleading visuals in a desperate attempt for attention.
Let’s be clear: every dollar wasted on these billboards is a dollar that could have gone toward housing the homeless or feeding the hungry. But rather than working with government agencies and nonprofits to provide solutions, Moylan has opted to exploit the issue for political theatrics.
If the Attorney General truly cares about solving homelessness, he should stop playing billboard politics and start contributing to real efforts that make a difference. This administration remains committed to addressing homelessness and economic challenges with action—not empty propaganda.
